Bryce Dooley, DVM, MS, DACAA: So, [a] big benefit is they work. They provide amazing pain relief to our patients with osteoarthritis. The drawback is that they they do have some significant side effects, they can have damaging effects on the liver, they can have damaging effects on the kidney, and the GI tract.
