Philippa Pavia, VMD, DACVS-SA: A cold laser is a modality primarily used in...rehabilitation practice and it does penetrate the tissues but it doesn't damage them and it's used to aid in pain relief as well as tissue healing...for postoperative recovery, it can speed wound healing and decrease inflammation and swelling, and then for more chronic conditions, it can do the same thing but over multiple treatment cycles.
