Charlee Bear Products in St. Francis, Wis., is voluntarily recalling two varieties of its Protein Crunch Bar products due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled Charlee Bear Protein Crunch Bars were distributed nationally in September and October 2012.
A finished product sample of Protein Crunch Bars--Chicken Recipe with Carrots--tested positive for the presence of Salmonella, prompting the recall. The recall includes 5.5-oz packages of Lot No. 19812 with UPC Code 8710890000 wand ith “best by” dates of July 16, 17, 18 and 20, 2015. In addition, 5.5-oz packages of Charlee Bear Protein Crunch BarsChicken Recipe with Sweet Potatoes, Lot No. 20112, UPC Code 8710890001, with a “best by” date of July 19, 2015--has also been recalled.
