Broken Bow, Neb.
— Response Products voluntarily recalled two lots of its Advanced Cetyl M Joint Action Formula for Dogs due to possible Salmonella contamination from an ingredient manufactured by a Nevada supplier.
The recall affects lot numbers 1210903 and 0128010, which includes 120-count bottles shipped between Jan. 8 and April 2 and 360-count bottles shipped from Feb. 11 to April 2 of this year.
The recall is a precautionary measure over Response’s concern about hydrolyzed vegetable protein supplied to the company by Las Vegas-based Basic Food Flavors Inc.
Multiple product samples were tested and no contamination was found, but Response decided to move forward with the recall due to a larger ingredient recall initiated by Basic Food Flavors, Response says in a statement on the company’s Web site.
No illnesses have been reported by any customers, but Response can be reached for more information by e-mail at customerservice@responseproducts.com or by calling (877) 266-9757, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST.
