Canine Hypothydroidism

Intervet introduces Leventa (levothyroxine sodium), a once-daily hypothydroidism liquid drug. The small-volume liquid formulation of thyroid medication makes treating canine hypothyroidism convenient, the company says.

The medication can be administered orally or mixed with food.

Leventa's oral dosing syringe, calibrated in 0.01-mL increments, allows for dosing closely matched to each patient's needs. As treatments continue, dosing can be modified easily without the need of dispensing new tablet sizes. One 30-mL bottle can replace multiple tablet sizes saving staff time and eliminating unnecessary cost for clients, the company says.
