The 2 organizations will join forces to help promote mentorship and wellness in veterinary medicine
MentorVet and Chewy Health announced they have joined forces to help support veterinary medical associations through an evidence-based mentorship program. The program will give early-career veterinarians tools to help with professional development, financial coaching, and mental health support.
“At Chewy Health, we are passionate about preserving the future of the veterinary industry and know that mentorship plays a vital role in equipping the next generation of caregivers with the tools needed to flourish in today’s complex veterinary landscape,” said Mita Malhotra, President of Chewy Health, in an organizational release.1 “We are proud to partner with MentorVet in delivering innovative programming that places the veterinarian at the center of the experience.”
According to the release,1 Chewy Health has committed to sponsoring full scholarships for members of veterinary medical associations across the United States to participate in MentorVets’s program MentorVet Leap. The program will provide veterinarians with less than 5 years of clinical experience with mentorship and professional development for 6 months. MentorVet Leap has also received approval for 10 hours of continuing education credits that recognize RACE approval.
“Chewy Health’s sponsorship of mentorship programming within veterinary medical associations demonstrates a commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of early-career veterinarians,” said Addie Reinhard, DVM, MS, founder and CEO of MentorVet, in the release.1 “It can be extremely challenging to establish effective mentoring programs within organizations, so this collaboration allows MentorVet to directly impact veterinary medical associations in providing ongoing support to members.”
