Boston, Mass.-Larry M. Hawk, DVM, was just named president and CEO of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).

Larry M. Hawk, DVM, was just named president and CEO of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).
Hawk was previously head of the American Society for the Prevention ofCruelty to Animals, a separate organization based in New York City.
In his new role, Hawk will lead the 135-year-old animal welfare and protectionorganization, which through its programs in veterinary medicine, sheltering,humane law enforcement and advocacy, gives hand-on care to nearly 250,000animals each year.
Hawk says, "The MSPCA has been a worldwide leader in animal protectionand part of the New England community for more than a century. I'm lookingforward to joining such a quality organization that makes a positive differencein the lives of countless people and animals in greater Boston, throughoutMassachusetts, and beyond."
Hawk replaces Dr. Gus W. Thornton.
