I always recommend owners feed pets an appropriate, carefully measured amount of food. To keep this daily task simple and quick, I have clients measure food—by measuring cup—into a food storage container that is then marked with daily increments. Each day, the owner divides that day's food allotment between breakfast and dinner. The quantity is adjusted up or down to maintain an ideal weight.
