Bloodstop creates a protective layer over an animal's injured area. The product is effective on all animals from livestock to indoor pets. The product speeds coagulation and expands to form an odorless gel that adheres to the skin's surface and absorbs blood.
Scars, infection and healing time are reduced significantly, the company adds.
Bloodstop is made from biologically inert natural regenerated cellulose. The product interacts with blood platelets and fibrin to form a gelatinous clear shield and creates a gentle backpressure to seal the wound, the company says.
The product completely dissolves in water, so veterinarians do not have to worry about a foreign body being left in the surgical area, the company says.
Bloodstop can be used to stop oral bleeding because it has no taste and is easily removed. It can be trimmed to fit individual wounds.
Bloodstop iX can be used with multiple layers to handle heavier arterial bleeding areas. The gauze is transparent to make the healing process easier to monitor.
