Minneapolis — Dr. Susan McDonough of Arnold, Md., received the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (NBVME) award for her work in the national licensing examination program.

MINNEAPOLIS — Dr. Susan McDonough of Arnold, Md., received the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (NBVME) award for her work in the national licensing examination program.

McDonough played a key role in the licensing program for nearly 20 years serving as a member and co-chair of the Consultant Advisory Board of the Professional Examining Service.

McDonough oversaw the development of the National Board Examination and the Clinical Competency Test (CCT). She organized and led writing and examination sessions as well.

McDonough graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1968 and began her career as a postdoctoral fellow at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia.

McDonough founded the Cat Hospital of Philadelphia in 1972 and worked there until 1997.

McDonough now works as a veterinarian at the Anne Arundel County Animal Control.
