Other emergencies include things like addisonian crisis (Addison's disease), which is generally a problem in dogs; thyroid storm, which is generally seen in cats with hyperthyroidism, but has never been properly documented; insulinomas, which are common with unexplained hypoglycemia; and myxedema coma, which is a very uncommon, life-threatening complication of hyperthyroidism seen in dogs usually in the winter.
