-- Ericka Caslin is the new director of the Unwanted Horse Coalition.
The Unwanted Horse Coalition is a group of more than 20 veterinary, horse-industry and equine-sport organizations formed in 2005 with the mission of reducing the number of unwanted horses and improving their welfare.
Caslin is a graduate of Virginia Tech's animal sciences program and has been an active member of the hunter and jumper community for more than 10 years. She has mostly served as administrative director of the Washington International Horse Show.
"The problems of the unwanted horse population are something I feel very strongly about, and I am looking forward to affecting positive change," Caslin says of her new position.
