Andi Flory, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology): We develop such an immediate and intense bond with families. I think all veterinarians do. And, a lot of veterinarians, they know a family from the beginning of [a pet's] life all the way to the end of their life. And a lot of times, [veterinary oncologists are} coming in there at this really intense and really heavy moment and then we get to, kind of, tell them that there are options and help them understand what they can do, and provide them a little bit of hope at a really dark time.
