Dr. Bauer, DVM, Ph.D., is a charter diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition, chair of the Faculty of Nutrition, and professor of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A & M University. He heads the Companion Animal Nutrition Laboratory at Texas A&M University and directs graduate training in companion animal nutrition. Dr. Bauer’s areas of specialization are lipid biochemistry, disorders of lipid metabolism and comparative biomedicine and nutrition. He has written numerous peer-reviewed publications and given many presentations. His studies have included lipoprotein metabolism of domestic and exotic animals as well as animal models of hypercholesterolemia and atherogenesis in man. Dr. Bauer received his veterinary degree from University of Illinois as well as his master’s degree and doctorate in nutritional sciences.
