Eligibility

The hospital design project must have been completed between January 1, 2020, and May 31, 2025.

The Hospital Design360® Competition is open to all veterinary practices owned and operated within the United States and its territories, including small animal, equine, specialty hospitals, regardless if publicly traded, foundations, government agencies, or nonprofit. Please review the Official Rules in detail for more information.

How To Enter

Entries are required to be submitted online via our Entry Form and include the following components:

  • Entry Form questionnaire. (Please plan up to allocate a minimum of 30-60 minutes to complete entry.)
  • Upload 12-18 photos, a 30-second video (optional), and 1 site plan, and 1 floor plan.
  • Digitally sign entry form attesting to the validity and accuracy of your entry.
  • Digitally sign media release via entry form.

Entries must be submitted no later than May 31, 2025, so don't delay! Putting together your entry can take time, so be sure to provide all requested information as required below.

Photo Criteria:

Each entry must include a complete color photo “tour” of your hospital’s interior and exterior. Judges rely heavily on photos that show the features you consider unique and important, and how the hospital enhances the efficiency of the team and the clients’ experience.

Photos must be at least 5”x 7” at 300 dpi. We strongly recommend using a professional photographer and including staff members or clients in pictures. (Note: photographer is accountable for obtaining written permission from subjects photographed. For purposes of this competition, dvm360® requires the owner of the photography to consent to a media release of submitted photos, which is located within the entry form.) At least one photo of each of the following (if applicable) is required:

  • An exterior image highlighting the front of the facility
  • Reception area
  • A typical exam room
  • Surgery
  • Laboratory
  • Pharmacy
  • Treatment area
  • Boarding
  • Isolation
  • Animal housing (indoor and outdoor)
  • Specialty rooms (dental, grooming, behavior, euthanasia, consultation, exotics, etc.)
  • Radiology
  • Staff lounge
  • Retail area
  • Exterior signage
  • Other interesting or unique features

Image files should be named using the following naming convention: “HospitalName_RoomType#”—for example, MiddleviewVeterinaryClinic_Surgery1, MiddleviewVeterinaryClinic_Surgery2. (If there are multiple views of the same room or area, please number the files accordingly.)

For animal shelters submitting, please limit interior photos to the veterinary areas of the facility.

Along with the entry form answers and the photos, you will also be required to provide a site plan for the hospital and floor plan(s). Please work with your architect on these diagrams.

Video Criteria (Optional):

Although not required, we highly recommended that you also submit a ~30-second video to introduce your project in addition to the photo submission. This is a great opportunity to showcase and tour of your hospital design project. Be creative and have fun. (Professional videography not required—a smart phone works great)

Winners will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail after May 31, 2025. Official announcement will be included on this website page.

Official Rules

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The Contest is open to all veterinary practices owned and operated within the United States and its territories, including small animal, equine, and specialty hospitals, regardless of whether ownership is publicly traded, a foundation, a government agency, or a non-profit. The Contest is open only to nominations from individuals who are legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Guam, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry, and legal residents of Puerto Rico who are 21 years of age or older at the time of entry. Persons in any of the following categories are not eligible to participate or win a prize: (a) persons who since June 1, 2022 were or are employees or agents of Sponsor, its respective parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, service agencies, sponsors and any independent contractors of any kind of the above organizations; provided, however, dvm360® advisory board and event faculty are eligible to nominate and for nomination; (b) employees of the persons in the immediate family of, or persons living in the same household as any person in any of the preceeding categories and (c) any entity involved in providing products or services to the veterinary industry. Void where prohibited by law. This contest begins on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. EDT and ends on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. EDT (“Contest Period”).

2. Eligibility/Entry Requirements: To participate and qualify for the Contest, a practice may be submitted as a nominee for the 2025 Hospital Design360 Competition (the “Contest”) by an eligible person (the “Entrant”). Entries can be submitted at the Contest website at https://www.dvm360.com/hospital-design-awards (the “Website”) by completing the entry form (the “Entry Form”). The Entry Form includes name, contact information of the Entrant, institution/practice name and the possible contest categories (see website for list of potential categories). The Entrant will complete the entry by checking the box and agreeing to these Official Rules. By submitting an Entry Form, Entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of Multimedia Animal Care, LLC (the “Sponsor”), which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. For purposes of this Contest and these Official Rules, your “Entry” is, collectively, the information and materials submitted by you as an Entrant, including, without limitation, the information disclosed through the Entry Form, and the Entry submitted. Entrants may submit multiple Entries. Entrant represents and warrants that the Entry (i) is original work, created solely by the Entrant, and shall be the exclusive property of Entrant alone; (ii) has not been previously published, released or distributed in any form; and (iii) has not won an award. Entries must be written in English. Entries that do not fully comply with the requirements set forth herein may be disqualified. The decisions of Sponsor on this and all matters pertaining to the Contest shall be final and binding. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, or incomplete entries, postage-due mail, or entries not received for any reason. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.

3. Judging Criteria: All entries will be judged under the supervision of a qualified judging panel (Hospital Design360 judging committee) whose decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. Three categories from which an eligible entry shall be named a Hospital Design360™ Grand Prize winner shall be: 1) Up to 3,500 square feet, 2) 3,500 to 8,000 square feet, and 3) 8,000+ square feet. Sponsor may change contest categories at its sole discretion. For a category to be considered by the judging panel, there must be at least three (3) entries of eligible nominees received by Sponsor for consideration. If Sponsor does not receive enough nominations in a category or if the selected winner declines the award, Sponsor at its sole discretion may choose not to select a winner in that category. The entries will be judged by the committee on the following criteria: 1) Best Hospital Design for Veterinary Medicine: How has the facility’s design minimized noise levels and, incorporated sterile surgery procedures, and infectious disease isolation controls? 2) Hospital Design Innovation: How has the facility’s design benefitted the practice? 3) Financial Value: How has the facility’s design achieved financial goals? 4) Community Engagement: How has the facility’s design impacted/supported the community? 5) Wellness: How has the facility’s design supported overall wellness for both people and pets?

One (1) Grand Prize winner will be awarded per each square-foot category).

4. Award: The winner of each Grand Prize square foot category will be rewarded up to four registrations for team members to attend any Fetch Conference in 2025 (Kansas City, National Harbor, or Long Beach) – travel and accommodations not included, a Hospital Design Award delivered to your practice, an Exclusive video interview with the dvm360® editorial team, and recognition via editorial exposure within dvm360’s magazine, online at www.dvm360.com, and within dvm360’s social media channels. All costs and expenses associated with Prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided such as reservation fees, taxes, insurance, meals, beverages, gratuities, and other expenses incurred by accepting the Prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners are responsible for paying any necessary State and Federal taxes related to the winnings. Inductees may receive an IRS Form 1099 for the retail value of the prize.

5. Award Acceptance: The limit for this Contest is one (1) Grand Prize winner per each square foot category. Winners will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail after May 31, 2025. If a winner cannot be contacted or if a winner refuses the honor, or prize notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected, or the category will not be awarded. Prize is not transferable. No cash or prize substitutions, except the sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes comparable in value. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use that winner's name, likeness, photo, and hometown for promotional and publicity purposes in any media now known or later developed, worldwide, at no additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By participating and accepting a prize, winner releases and agrees to hold harmless, Sponsor, its respective parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, service agencies, sponsors and any independent contractors of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of the prize or the participation in this contest or any contest-related activity. For a list of the winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to “2025 dvm360 Hospital Design Competition”, Multimedia Animal Care, LLC at 2 Commerce Drive, Cranbury, NJ 08512 by May 31, 2025.

6. Privacy Policy: All information submitted by Entrants in the Contest will be treated according to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. Please review the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy at https://www.mjhlifesciences.com/privacy. By participating in the Contest and providing your information, Entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.

7. Social Media: This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc., X, or LinkedIn. You understand that you are providing your information to Sponsor and not to Meta Platforms, Inc., X, or LinkedIn. Facebook and Instagram are registered trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc., X is a registered trademark of X Corporation. LinkedIn, the LinkedIn logo, the IN logo and InMail are registered trademarks or trademarks of LinkedIn Corporation.

8. Disqualification: Sponsor reserves the right, to disqualify any individual found, in its sole opinion, to be tampering with the operation of the Contest; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike manner or with the intent to disrupt the normal operation of the Contest. Any use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed, third party or like methods to participate in the Contest will void any attempted participation affected by such methods and the disqualification of the individual utilizing the same. CAUTION AND WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prizes from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. In the event of any conflict with any Contest details contained in these Official Rules and Contest details contained in other Contest-related materials, the details of the Contest as set forth in these Official Rules shall prevail. 

9. By entering, each Entrant agrees for Entrant and for Entrant’s heirs, executors, and administrators (a) to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Meta Platforms, Inc., X and LinkedIn Inc. and their respective officers, directors, and employees (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from such Entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (b) that Released Parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to any prize, including, without limitation, to such prize’s quality or fitness for a particular purpose; and (c) to be bound by these Official Rules and to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error therein or in the Contest itself, and to be bound by all decisions of the Sponsor, which are binding and final. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in disqualification from the Contest at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor makes no warranties, and hereby disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, concerning any prize furnished in connection with the Contest. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, SUCH PRIZES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND SPONSOR HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL SUCH WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND/OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to any principles of conflict of laws. All disputes arising out of or connected with this Contest will be resolved individually, and without resort to class action, exclusively by a state or federal court located in Middlesex County, New Jersey. Should there be a conflict between the laws of the State of New Jersey and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of the laws of the State of New Jersey. To the extent permitted by applicable law, all judgments or awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket damages (excluding attorneys’ fees) associated with participation in this Contest and shall not include any indirect, punitive, incidental and/or consequential damages.
