LSU receives $9.9 million grant for new center
August 1st 2004BATON ROUGE-The Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Veterinary Medicine has received a $9.9 million to establish a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE). This grant for the National Center for Research Resources provides funds to develop faculty for independent funding by the National Institute of Health (NIH). The grant will last for five years and can be renewed for five or more years.

August 1st 2004Madison, Wis.-In an effort to speed up research on disease-causing pathogens, including ones that could be used as biological weapons, scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) will team with an information technology company, SRA International, Inc. to build an online publicly accessible library of data on these infectious agents and their genomes, the university reports.
