Good fortune isn't found. It's made.
Today is your lucky day. Even if you didn't find a face-up penny in your clinic's parking lot, you can still get lucky with the four secrets to success. After studying the psychological differences between the so-called blessed and cursed, Professor Richard Wiseman at the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom discovered that luck is what you make of it. In his book, The Luck Factor, Wiseman outlines the four codes to follow to increase your fortuity. Here's what Wiseman says you should do:
1. Seize the day
Always look for opportunities. For example, every interaction is a chance to network.
2. Follow your gut
Your initial instinct is usually right. Listen to your intuition.
3. Stay positive
Those who believe they will succeed do. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, Wiseman says.
4. Make lemonade
When things turn sour, don't sulk. Find a solution.
