Newly elected AAHA President Dr. Michael Andrews says he doesn't have an agenda to alter the association, but he plans to keep updated on issues that affect the profession.

Andrews worked as a veterinarian in private practice for more than 20 years as an associate, hospital director and practice owner. He is owner of Woodcrest Veterinary Clinic in Riverside, Calif., served on AAHA's board of directors since 2000, and is a former delegate to the AVMA and a past president of the California Veterinary Medical Association and the Orange Belt Veterinary Medical Association.
Thomas Carpenter, DVM, was named president-elect. He is a member of the AAHA Leadership Council, liaison to the Membership Audit and Control Committee and is a former chair of the AAHA Practice Team Membership Committee. He is managing partner of the Newport Harbor Animal Hospital in Costa Mesa, Calif.
Anna Worth, VMD, was elected vice president. She chairs the AAHA Foundation Board of Trustees, previously served as an AAHA representative and president of the National Council for Pet Population Study and Policy. Worth is owner of the West Mountain Animal Hospital in Shaftsbury, Vt.
John Tait, DVM, begins a two-year term as secretary and treasurer. He is the managing partner and president of the Ontario Veterinary Group and serves as a trustee of the AAHA Foundation, is board liaison to the Practice Management Advisory Group and member of the National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues.
New directors include Michael Moyer, VMD, owner of Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital, Inc. in Bensalem, Pa., Charles Hickey, Jr., DVM, president of Pocoshock Animal Hospital in Richmond, Va. and Short Pump Animal Hospital in Glen Allen, Va. and Gregg Takashima, DVM, owns The Parkway Veterinary Hospital in Lake Oswego, Ore.
