Washington - Ross University and other offshore veterinary programs now can petition for affiliate membership with the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC).

WASHINGTON — Ross University and other offshore veterinary programs now can petition for affiliate membership with the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC).

The bylaws change, which became effective in July during the group's annual meeting, opens the door to non-accredited veterinary institutions around the world.

"This is part of our strategy to have a more global approach to veterinary medical education," outgoing Executive Director Dr. Larry Heider says in a news release. "We feel it's very important to have these colleges in dialog with us."
