Schaumburg, Ill.-The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Governmental Relations Division, in partnership with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF), is accepting applications for the 2003-04 AVMA/AVMF Congressional Science Fellowship Program.
Since 1988, the AVMA/-AVMF Congressional Science Fellowship Program hasplaced 27 veterinarians in one-year fellowships with the U.S. Congress andhas selected three more fellows for placement this year. The fellowshipprogram heightens the awareness and enhances the reputation of the veterinaryprofession on Capitol Hill and throughout Washington, D.C., according tothe AVMA.
Fellows provide scientific expertise to the congressional offices inwhich they serve, while learning about the legislative process and the creationof public policy.
All applications must be received by January 15, 2003. All applicantsmust be AVMA members.
