Schaumburg, Ill. — Adrian Hochstadt joins the American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) Communications Division as the assistant director of state and regulatory affairs.
SCHAUMBURG, ILL. — Adrian Hochstadt joins the American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) Communications Division as the assistant director of state and regulatory affairs.
Hochstadt, an attorney and certified association executive (CAE), comes with 15 years experience managing government affairs programs, AVMA says. Most recently, he worked for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. He also managed the American Society of Plastic Surgeons' state and federal affairs program where he convinced 19 state legislatures to guarantee insurance coverage for breast cancer victims undergoing reconstructive procedures.

Hochstadt is charged with directing AVMA's efforts to assist constituent organizations, helping them manage the legislative and regulatory challenges they face.
"I look forward to exploring the needs of each of the constituent organizations and finding out how I can be of value to their efforts," Hochstadt says in a prepared statement. "Their input is crucial to AVMA as we continue to develop effective advocacy resources.
"I am confident that together we can build a top-notch program to educate state legislators and regulators about veterinary medicine, our issues and the importance of our issues to the health of both people and animals."
Hochstadt earned his law degree in 1985 and received his CAE designation from the American Society of Association Executives in 1999.
