SCHAUMBURG, ILL. —Barbara Bush is slated as keynote speaker of the jointly held American Veterinary Medical Association and World Veterinary Association annual conventions in Minneapolis.
The former first lady is scheduled to speak following a kickoff ceremony July 16 in the Minneapolis Convention Center. An advocate of veterinary medicine, she is author of the national bestseller "Millie's Book: The First Dog Dictates Her Memoirs to Barbara Bush."
Opening ceremonies of the 142nd AVMA Annual Convention also will feature Dr. Herbert Schneider, president of the World Veterinary Association, and Dr. Bernard Vallat, director general of the World Organization for Animal Health.
