WASHINGTON — The American Veterinary Medical Association's president was to testify Feb. 7 before a House committee concerning the National Veterinary Medical Services Act (NVMSA).
The program is contained in the Senate's version of the farm bill, which was being hashed out in conference committee at press time. Hammer was scheduled to speak to the House Committee on Agriculture regarding the importance of NVMSA, a loan-repayment program for veterinarians who agree to practice in geographically underserved areas of the United States.
