It would seem logical to say security measures failed if someone got through a locked door at your practice. Seibert says physical barriers such as a locked door or a simple door chime give staff advance warning of danger—even if it’s just seconds. A real time video monitoring system easily viewed in the activity center of the hospital with cameras aimed at the reception area, back door and front entrance can also help staff see trouble ahead. Advance warning can give staff time to alert authorities, move to a safe room or secure the facility.
