You decide to treat Coco with marbofloxacin once a day for three weeks and recommend that the owners bring her back in one week for a recheck urinalysis.

One week later, the owners report that Coco has had no more accidents in the house and is doing well. Here are her urinalysis results (via cystocentesis):

What is your plan for Coco at this time?

a) Discontinue antibiotics since she appears to have cleared the infection and her clinical signs have improved.

b) Discontinue the marbofloxacin since Coco's urinalysis results are improved, and initiate treatment with a urinary antiseptic such as methenamine.

c) Continue the marbofloxacin and have her return five to seven days after the last dose for a recheck urinalysis and culture.

d) Switch her antibiotic to enrofloxacin.
