Comprehensive Feline Dental Extraction Course
This course is designed for the veterinarian to master the principles of feline dental extractions coupled with basic radiographic interpretation and associated regional nerve blocks for pain management.The lab will begin with demonstration and practice of common local nerve blocks in feline cadavers. Time will be devoted to extraction planning on feline cadavers through the use of preoperative intraoral radiographs. Periodontal flap design and extraction techniques for teeth with single and multiple roots will be presented in a step-by-step fashion in feline cadavers. Oral surgery instrument selection, use and care are important in the extraction of these fragile teeth. Extraction success will be measured by utilizing postoperative radiographs.*This program was reviewed and approved by the AAVSB RACE program for 4.5 hours of continuing education in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval.
