Food-responsive enteropathies represent at least 50% to 66% of chronic gastrointestinal conditions in dogs and cats. Food-responsive enteropathies include any gastrointestinal disease responsive to dietary intervention, including alteration of protein source or form (eg, novel protein, hydrolyzed protein), reduction of dietary fat or carbohydrates, or supplementation with dietary fiber. Although dietary protein modification (ie, novel or hydrolyzed protein diets) receives the most attention, modification of dietary fiber amount and sources can also have dramatic benefits on the gastrointestinal tract and, depending on the case, may be all that is required to address diarrhea. In this seminar, we will discuss the properties of fiber, their proposed benefits, and how to navigate choosing the right dietary fiber for your canine and feline patients.
Traditionally, focus in veterinary clinics has been placed on leading with pricing; however, clinics should ideally focus on generating value that equals or exceeds pricing, which can be accomplished with a thorough understanding of client-driven costs and the generation of value. Overall clinic costs can be reduced with the development of protocols, training, and a 3-tiered communication strategy, which can simultaneously increase value generation for clients. In this webinar, attendees will explore different pricing strategies and gain an understanding of all the costs that need to be taken into account when constructing a plan to set prices in their clinic and monitor the success of their approach.
