Equine neurology expert to deliver featured lecture at AAEP convention
San Diego - Stephen M. Reed, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, an expert in equine neurology, will deliver the prestigious Frank J. Milne State-of-the-Art Lecture Dec. 8, during the American Association of Equine Practitioners 54th annual convention in San Diego.

Reed, who practices at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky., has written and lectured extensively on "wobbler" syndrome, equine protozoal myelitis, head trauma and the neurologic examination, has authored or co-authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and is an editor of Equine Internal Medicine, entering its third printing.
A 1976 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Reed joined the OSU faculty as an assistant professor in 1983, became a professor in 1994 and was named to the Jenne Professorship in equine medicine and surgery in 2003.
He retired from OSU in 2007 as an emeritus professor and joined Rood and Riddle as an equine specialist. He monitors 29 residents and more than 20 interns there.
Named for AAEP Past President and Distinguished Life Member Frank J. Milne, the lecture series began at the 1997 AAEP convention in Phoenix, and features state-of-the-art information on various aspects of equine veterinary medicine.
