Ryane E. Englar, DVM, DABVP: [Ballroom dancing] is a conversation, and just like I model conversation for my students on how to talk with clients, it reminds me that I need to communicate in different ways, and a lot of it is nonverbal. And dance is a lot of lead [and] follow. So, everyone has their assigned roles and responsibilities, and I have to let go of some of that control and trust my partner is there to catch me. And it's good for me as a reminder that I'm not always in the driver's seat, and that's there's peace and stress in that you have to kind of navigate that. But it reminds me what it's like to be on the other side of a conversation where I need to trust in another to get me where I'm going.
