Veterinarian creates parody of "All About that Bass" to highlight the serious issue of pet overpopulation."If you spend time with me, you'll get neutered pretty fast," sings Dr. Renee Brockett in her parody video, "All About that Spay."
"If you spend time with me, you'll get neutered pretty fast," sings Dr. Renee Brockett in her parody video, "All About That Spay."
"We had a lot of fun making this video, but we did it to point out a serious problem," she says at the end of the video. "Each year, 6 to 8 million dogs and cats enter U.S. shelters. Half of these animals are euthanized because of lack of homes. ... We cannot adopt this problem away. The only solution is to spay and neuter."
To spread her spay-and-neuter message, Dr. Brockett engaged the help of her team at Nolan River Animal Hospital in Cleburne, Texas, including her husband Josh Brockett, technicians Sara Hollingsworth and Pam Weller, receptionist Gena Schlaback and technician and receptionist Jacy Ward.
