His extensive background in the animal health business will enable him to further accelerate the company's growth initiatives.
IGNITE Veterinary Solutions—an international veterinary learning and knowledge company—has appointed Mark J. Shaw to its Board of Directors and as its CEO. Shaw’s responsibilities will include furthering IGNITE’s strong expansion momentum and delivering value to veterinary customers and industry partners through a multitude of growth initiatives.
According to a company release, Jill Clark, DVM, IGNITE founder, will now serve as the company’s chief visionary officer, continuing her passion for providing innovative knowledge and educational content for veterinary professionals.
“I have never been more excited about the future of IGNITE®. As a strategic and experienced leader, the addition of Mark to our team is incredibly valuable to IGNITE’s future growth. We are intentionally adding capabilities that help accelerate our company’s purpose and potential while advancing our global veterinary reach,” said Clark.
Shaw’s role at IGNITE follows his position as president of MWI Animal Health—an AmerisourceBergen company—which along with its leading global animal health distribution businesses, included Micro Technologies, Securos Surgical, AllyDVM and VetOne. Shaw joined MWI through its acquisition of Micro Technologies in 2011 in which he served as an owner, president and CEO, according to the release.
With a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Business from Oklahoma State University, Shaw was also recently inducted into the Oklahoma State inaugural Cowboy 100 and Blazing 15 which recognizes business leadership and entrepreneurial accomplishments.
