To stay informed on the latest pet food and medication recalls, download this app.
Smartphone owners, take note: There's a new app to help you track the latest recalls in the veterinary industry-and in other industries, for that matter. The Recalls.gov Android app compiles recalls from agencies like the Food and Drug Administration, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Department of Agriculture.
The app allows users to type a product's name or a search term, such as pet or veterinary, into his or her phone and receive instant results on whether any recalls have been issued. Users can also view photos of recalled products, scan product barcodes to check for recalls, and learn what to do with recalled products they own.
Non-Android users can access the information by visiting the agency's mobile site from their phone at recalls.gov.
