Schaumburg, Ill.
-- The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) now is seeking volunteers to fill positions on two new groups.
The Task Force on AVMA Programs for Students and Recent Graduates was created in January on recommendation from the AVMA Executive Board to review existing student programs and develop a strategic plan for moving forward. The task force will provide an additional opportunity for recent veterinary school graduates to become involved in AVMA, says the organization. Applicants may be current students, recent graduates, faculty or veterinarians.
The other committee, the AVMA 20/20 Vision Commission was established by the Executive Board to provide the organization with long-term vision guidance for the next six to 10 years. The commission would help identify what AVMA needs to grow as a “flexible and dynamic” association that can meet its membership’s needs for the future.
Nominations for either group are being accepted until March 15. Applications can be found at here and should include a one- to two-page resume. For more information, contact AVMA at (847) 285-6678 in regard to the task force or (847) 285-6605 in regard to the vision commission.
