Lakewood, Colo.
-- The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) has begun its search to replace long-time Executive Director Dr. John Albers, who will step down from the position Dec. 31 after 23 years.
Albers announced his plans to step down from his AAHA post in August, and the association recently formed a five-member search committee, chaired by John Tait, DVM, AAHA president. Other members are Gregg Yakashima, DVM, AAHA president-elect; Tom Carpenter, DVM, AAHA past president; Dennis Feinberg, DVM, AAHA past president; and Carin Smith, DVM.
An executive search firm, EFL Associates of Greenwood Village, Colo., will work with the committee.
The panel hopes to recommend a final candidate to the AAHA board of directors by mid-December. Interested candidates can submit letters of inquiry to EFL Executive Vice President Mary Hobson at mhobson@eflassociates.com.
