Good morning and happy Monday dvm360 readers! Everyone at dvm360 hopes you had a great weekend and are ready to tackle another week. With April wrapping up this week, so is the nomination period for our 2025 Veterinary Heroes Award Program. You can learn more about the program, see previous winners, and nominate your veterinary hero here today!
Along with our Veterinary Heroes program, dvm360 also launched its new and improved Pet Connections. Pet Connections provides veterinary professionals with resources from key industry leaders, such as David Dycus, DVM, MS, CCRP, DACVS-SA, and Alex Sigmund, DVM, DACVO, to give to clients to help them better understand what is going on with their pet, what changes to look out for that indicate something could be wrong, and more.
Here is what you can find this week on dvm360.com:
- Pet Poison Helpline recently observed a significant, and rising, number of exposures detailing multisystemic signs and adverse outcomes that are associated with overdoses from oclacitinib maleate (Apoquel; Zoetis) since it was introduced in October 2023.

However, once she was referred to UC Davis, she was able to enter a clinical study which turned out to be a success for Lola.
