To determine its rankings, WalletHub evaluated the 150 most populated cities in the United States based on three specific factors — recreation, food and entertainment, and rest and relaxation. Here are the top 10 staycation cities in the country.

10. New York, New York

  • Ranked in the top five for the most tennis courts, ice cream and frozen yogurt shops, beer gardens, coffee and tea shops, museums, and spas.
  • Ranked in the bottom five for having the fewest zoos and aquariums.

9. San Francisco, California

  • Ranked in the top five for having the most coffee and tea shops, museums and spas.
  • Ranked fourth for recreation and food/entertainment.

8. Portland, Oregon

  • Ranked in the top five for having the most beer gardens and coffee and tea shops.
  • Ranked third for food and entertainment.

7. Atlanta, Georgia

  • Ranked in the top five for having the most ice cream and frozen yogurt shops.
  • Ranked in the top 10 for recreation and food and entertainment.

6. Las Vegas, Nevada

  • Ranked in the top five for having the most public golf courses, zoos and aquariums, ice cream and frozen yogurt shops, and spas.
  • Ranked second for best food and entertainment.
