Davis, Calif. - 8/26/05 - Practitioners are invited to attend a public policy course at the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
The class, held Sept. 29 - Oct. 1, focuses on "politics, facts, belief and animal health," and is presented by the school's Master of Preventative Veterinary Medicine program.
It will include lectures, case studies and a field trip to Sacramento to familiarize participants with the legislative processes involved in developing public policy, officials say. Participants will hear presentations about how science, public opinion, legislation and regulation interact to form public policy related to animal health issues, officials add.
