Former veterinary college dean Warwick Arden is now serving as interim provost
Raleigh, N.C. – A veterinarian and college administration veteran is one of three finalists for the job of provost and executive vice chancellor at North Carolina State University.
Warwick Arden has been serving as the interim provost since May 2009, following five years as dean of the university's College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to that, Arden was head of the department of veterinary clinical medicine at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Arden received a BVSc in veterinary medicine from the University of Sydney, a PhD in physiology and biophysics from the University of Kentucky, and an MS in physiology from Michigan State University.
Arden is competing for the job against Cathryn R. Newton, a professor from Syracuse University, and Robert McGrath, who has held various positions with the Battelle Memorial Institute for the past few years.
