As we prepare to recap VMX this weekend, here is what was popular on dvm360.com for the week:

  • Popular veterinarian Mariana Pardo, BVSc, MV, DACECC, and her attorneys shared in a press release that Pardo has filed a federal whistleblower and retaliation lawsuit against her former employer, accusing the hospital and owner of medical misconduct and discriminating against staff.
  • In the latest installment of Pet Poison Helpline’sToxin Tails, Sawyer, a 6-year-old golden retriever was brought to the clinic after his owner noticed Sawyer had gotten into her child’s diaper cream. After being treated, Sawyer was still not feeling well so they brought him back to the clinic for an x-ray where they made a very unexpected discovery.
  • On this week’s episode of The Vet Blast Podcast, host Adam Christman, DVM, MBA, was joined by Rand Wachsstock, DVM, to discuss the Compassion Animal Project and how they are working to keep pets and their families together.
  • A study recently published in Veterinary Science investigated koalas affected by bushfires in Australia and revealed severe burns to the animal’s footpads that hindered the koala’s ability to climb trees as well as escape dangerous conditions.
  • The American Association of Feline Practitioners and EveryCat Health Foundation announced they are offering 2 $2,500 scholarships to students enrolled in an accredited veterinary college or school in the United States or Canada.
  • And more!
