Diagnostics for chronic gastrointestinal problems include a complete blood count (including manual differential), biochemical profile, urinalysis, fecal flotation (+/- direct examination, fecal cytology, sedimentation, acid-fast staining, occult blood, PCR testing for parasites), thoracic and abdominal radiographs and abdominal ultrasound.
