Established in 1987, RedRover is a national animal welfare nonprofit based in Sacramento, California, that serves the United States and Canada. They focus on bringing animals out of crisis and strengthening the human-animal bond through three programs that provide emergency sheltering, disaster relief services, financial assistance, and education. The RedRover Responders program temporarily shelters and cares for animals evacuated from natural disasters or rescued from cruelty and neglect. The RedRover Relief program offers grants and resources for animals in need of emergency veterinary care, and helps domestic violence survivors seeking safety with their pets. Through the RedRover Readers program, children learn the steps to develop empathy to prevent animal cruelty and neglect.
