Heather E. Lewis, AIA, NCARB, AAA: What happens when you have an object and you're cleaning a room, you have to take that object and you have to clean all 4 sides of that object and maybe the bottom of it and dust it. And then you have to clean the surface underneath it and put it down. So, that was like 5 steps. If you didn't have the object, you'd just wipe the counter. So decluttering the environment really helps people keep a cleaner environment and reduce the risk of fomite transmission.
