Jan Woods shares 3 important factors for remaining in compliance with DEA controlled substance regulations
Jan Woods shares 3 common misconceptions about controlled substance regulations from her sessions at Fetch dvm360® Conference in Kansas City.
The following is a partial transcript of the video.
Jan Woods: At my practice, we had 8 interns every year. Not one intern that came in ever knew that they had to have a DEA number. And so not only do you need a DEA number when you're in practice, but if you're going to several different locations, you're going to need more than one. And you're also going to need a state license in a lot of cases, in states that require a state-controlled substance license as well as a DEA for mobile veterinarians. This is a complete insanity for them, because they may be in several different practices at one time. So today, I'll talk a little bit about what you need to do to prepare if you're going to be in different practices, and you own your own company and not an employee.
