Washington - 8/14/2007 - Ross University and other offshore veterinary programs now can petition for affiliate membership with the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC).
The by-laws change, which became effective in July during the group's annual meeting, opens the door to non-accredited veterinary institutions around the world.
"This is part of our strategy to have a more global approach to veterinary medical education," outgoing Executive Director Dr. Larry Heider says in a news release. "We feel it's very important to have these colleges in dialog with us."
