Madison, Wis. -- Dr. Michael Lairmore of The Ohio State University has been named the new president of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.

-- Dr. Michael Lairmore of The Ohio State University (OSU) has been named the new president of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP).
The appointment was made at ACVP's joint meeting with the American Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists in early December.
Lairmore is chair and professor in the department of veterinary biosciences at OSU. He also serves as associate director for basic sciences at the Ohio State Comprehensive Cancer Care Center and has contributed to more than 170 peer-reviewed publications. Associate editor for Retrovirology and editorial board member for Virology, Lairmore has earned a Distinguished Scholar Award for the Advancement of Sciences and the American Cancer Society's Hero of Hope award. He also was a candidate for dean at OSU last year.
