Architect Heather Lewis joins Veterinary Economics' editorial advisory board

Heather Lewis, AIA, has joined the Veterinary Economics' editorial advisory board, replacing Mark Hafen, AIA. Lewis is a principal architect for Animal Arts in Boulder Colo., and joined the firm in August 2000. She is the resident equine and large animal expert and is experienced in front-end development of animal shelter projects, veterinary hospitals and pet care facilities.

Lewis replaces outgoing board member Mark Hafen, AIA, who recently retired and was one of the founding architects of Animal Arts. Before his departure, he wrote a special column for dvm360 at dvm360.com/hafen.

Lewis has contributed articles for Veterinary Economics since 2005 and has also lectured at the Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Conference at CVC Kansas City. At this year’s Hospital Design Conference, Lewis will be speaking about hot trends in veterinary design, building a better project timeline, regulatory and neighbor challenges, green construction, small hospital excellence, systems to keep your clinic clean and tricks to get your building working for you.
