The AVMA Future Leaders group — which consists of 9 young veterinarians from diverse backgrounds — has been working on a project regarding the topic of pet obesity. The class will be delivering a unique toolkit on pet obesity at the 2018 AVMA Convention, which describes how to help pets lose weight, how to engage in difficult conversations with clients, what some of the factors are that play into pet obesity, etc. The hope is that this comprehensive toolkit will allow veterinary team members to better engage with their clients about the difficult subject of pet obesity.
