HARTFORD, CONN. — Connecticut lawmakers are eyeing legislation that would compensate owners of animals that are killed or maimed by other dogs.
Senate Bill 963 places financial liability on the owners of dogs that attack and calls for fair monetary compensation for the injury or death and payment of veterinary care and burial, if needed.
The bill was approved by Senate Judiciary Committee on March 11 and moves on to the full Senate for a vote.
