Case 10

Max continues to do well and returns for reevaluation two months after his last visit. His clinical signs have completely resolved, he is near his normal weight, and his radiographic findings are normal. Good job, doc! You recommend that the owners continue fluconzaole for one more month, and, if he continues to do well, they can discontinue treatment at that time.
You do make sure to discuss with the owners that this disease has the potential for relapse, so they will need to continue to monitor Max for any clinical problems, keep him indoors, and present him for evaluation if problems occur as well as for annual preventive healthcare examinations.
