Try again. While I-131 is an effective method of treating feline hyperthyroidism, it would be an inappropriate option for Miss Kitty at this time. Given her azotemia and dehydration, it would be better to hydrate her and, once she is feeling better, treat with low-dose methimazole to gauge the effect this will have on her renal function before offering a more permanent solution such as I-131.
